The Michigan Gem & Mineral Society of Jackson is a chartered, non-profit corporation. We are located in the city and county of Jackson, Michigan. The first meeting was held on March 4, 1954. Currently our meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, 1:00p.m. at the Leoni Twp. Hall in Michigan Center, MI with the following exceptions: Summer months (June-July - Aug.) meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of each month at 1:00pm at locations T.B.A. (1st time guests are more than welcome to attend!)
Our MissionThe purpose of the Society shall be: (1) To promote interest and increased knowledge in the fields of mineralogy, geology, the lapidary arts and other earth sciences (2) To publish articles and information pertaining to these fields (3) To encourage the collecting and displaying of specimens in these fields (4) To arrange fields trips in the interest of collecting or sightseeing in these fields In addition, MGMS of Jackson offers:
Membership Fees: $15.00/Individual $20.00/Family Family is classified as all family members living under one roof. Membership fees are due by March 25th of each calendar year. Individual and/or Family memberships can be obtained throughout the calendar year. Membership is required in order to attend any and all MGMS sponsored fieldtrips.
